About the Company
This website, www.cottagewellness.in, is operated by Cottage Essentials, Hyderabad, Telangana, India, trading as Cottage Wellness ("the Company"). In this policy, "the Customer" means any person who visits this website or places an order on it. This policy explains what personal information the Company collects, why it collects it, and what choices the Customer has.
Information collected
When the Customer places an order or contacts the Company, the Company collects the Customer's name, phone number, email address, delivery and billing address, and the details of what was ordered.
When the Customer browses the website, the store platform automatically collects basic technical information such as device and browser type, IP address, and the pages viewed. This is done partly through cookies.
The Company does not see or store card, bank or UPI details. These are handled directly by its payment partner.
How the information is used
The Company uses the information to process and deliver orders, to send order and delivery updates by email, SMS or WhatsApp, to answer questions and handle returns or refunds, to keep the accounts and tax records the law requires, and to prevent fraud and keep the website secure.
The Company sends marketing messages, such as news and offers, only to Customers who have chosen to receive them. A Customer can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email or by contacting the Company.
Sharing of information
The Company shares the Customer's information only as far as needed to run its store:
- Shopify, which hosts the online store and stores order and customer data on its servers, some of which are outside India.
- Razorpay, which processes payments.
- Courier partners, who receive the Customer's name, address and phone number to deliver the order.
- Government or legal authorities, when the law requires it.
The Company does not sell personal information to anyone.
The store platform, Shopify
This website runs on Shopify. Shopify collects and processes information about visits and purchases in order to provide and improve its services, and may also use information from activity on stores it hosts for its own purposes, including advertising. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on the Customer's device. Some are necessary for the website to work, for example to remember what is in the cart. Others help the Company understand how the website is used. The Customer can block or delete cookies in the browser settings, but parts of the website may then not work properly.
Retention
The Company keeps order and invoice records for as long as tax and accounting laws require. Other information is kept only as long as needed for the purposes described above.
Security
The store runs on Shopify's secure platform, and all pages use encryption. Access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to fulfil orders. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but the Company takes reasonable care to protect the Customer's information.
The Customer's choices and rights
The Customer may ask the Company for a copy of the personal information it holds about them, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted where the Company is not legally required to keep it, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Children
This website is intended for adults. The Company does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
